Using Convene to access Ecunet after January 24, 2003

After January 24, Ecunet members who use Convene software and dial directly into the Ecunet host using an 800 number or by dialing a 502 number will have to modify how they use Convene to connect to the Ecunet host server.  The old 800 number and 502 number will no longer work after January 24.  These changes reflect an unavoidable modernization of Ecunet's billing processes and access methods.

CONVENE FOR WINDOWS.  After January 24, Ecunet members who use Convene for Windows (CfW) will have to reconfigure their software for http access.  Members may then select to either use Ecunet's new bill-by-the-minute "personal 800 number Internet access" option, or use an Internet Service Provider (ISP).  (More information below.)

CONVENE FOR DOS.  After January 24, the modem dialer built directly into Convene for Dos (CfD) will no longer work.  To continue using CfD Ecunet members will have to use Ecucomm together with either Ecunet's new bill-by-the-minute "personal 800 number Internet access" option, or with an Internet Service ProviderEcucomm is a Windows application and Windows Dial-up Networking will need to be enabled for this combination to work.  (More information below.)

CONVENE FOR MAC.  Unfortunately, after January 24 Convene for Mac (CfM) users can no longer be supported as CfM does not support Internet-standard access. (See alternative access instructions below.)

NOTE: It is highly recommended that Ecunet members who have to change their connection options consider switching to a contemporary, free email program such as Outlook Express to access Ecunet.

ACCESS OPTIONS.  After January 24, all Ecunet members must have some kind of Internet access.  The following access options are available:
