| Setting
up Convene for Dos with
Ecucomm
1) Connect to Internet using your Internet service
provider.
2) Download Ecucomm.
(If you do not have an Internet server provider, send a note
to helper@ecunet.org
and request that the Ecucomm file be electronically mailed to
you.)
3) You will be asked if you wish to save the ecws.exe file to
your Desktop folder. Click on [Save].
4) After the ecws.exe file has been downloaded to your Desktop
folder disconnect from your local Internet service provider.
5) Next, click on the ecws or ecws.exe file on your Desktop
folder to
install Ecucomm. Click the [Next] button on each Ecucomm
installation
screen, then click on [Finish] to finish the installation.
6) An Ecucomm icon will appear on your Desktop. Click on
the
Ecucomm icon.
7) You will be prompted for an inbox folder (the highlight bar
will be highlighting your C:\ folder). Click on the
"Convene" folder to
highlight it, then click on the "Inbox" folder
underneath the Convene
folder, then click on the [OK] button.
8) Next, the account information dialogue box will be
displayed.
Click on [OK] to okay the information there. You'll be
brought back
to the Ecucomm made menu. Click on the [Exit] button.
9) Connect to your Internet service provider, then minimize
your
browser window.
10) Click on the Ecucomm icon, then click on [Send/Receive] to
send and receive your e-mail. Once Ecucomm is finished
click
on the [Exit] button. Next, disconnect from your
Internet service
provider.
11) Next, open Convene for DOS. You will be prompted,
"You have
an unprocessed mail file. Do you wish to process
it?" Answer Y for Yes.
Next, read and reply to your messages with Convene the way you
usually
do. Next, exit Convene, connect to your Internet service
provider,
open Ecucomm and [Send/Receive] again.
