Setting up Convene for Dos with Ecucomm

1) Connect to Internet using your Internet service provider.

2) Download Ecucomm.  (If you do not have an Internet server provider, send a note to helper@ecunet.org and request that the Ecucomm file be electronically mailed to you.)

3) You will be asked if you wish to save the ecws.exe file to
your Desktop folder.  Click on [Save].

4) After the ecws.exe file has been downloaded to your Desktop folder disconnect from your local Internet service provider.

5) Next, click on the ecws or ecws.exe file on your Desktop folder to
install Ecucomm.  Click the [Next] button on each Ecucomm installation
screen, then click on [Finish] to finish the installation.

6) An Ecucomm icon will appear on your Desktop.  Click on the
Ecucomm icon.

7) You will be prompted for an inbox folder (the highlight bar
will be highlighting your C:\ folder).  Click on the "Convene" folder to
highlight it, then click on the "Inbox" folder underneath the Convene
folder, then click on the [OK] button.

8) Next, the account information dialogue box will be displayed.
Click on [OK] to okay the information there.  You'll be brought back
to the Ecucomm made menu.  Click on the [Exit] button.

9) Connect to your Internet service provider, then minimize your
browser window.

10) Click on the Ecucomm icon, then click on [Send/Receive] to
send and receive your e-mail.  Once Ecucomm is finished click
on the [Exit] button.  Next, disconnect from your Internet service
provider.

11) Next, open Convene for DOS.  You will be prompted, "You have
an unprocessed mail file.  Do you wish to process it?"  Answer Y for Yes.
Next, read and reply to your messages with Convene the way you usually
do.  Next, exit Convene, connect to your Internet service provider,
open Ecucomm and [Send/Receive] again.
