Year-end
fundraising campaign report
Sincere thanks to Ecunet members who have provided a little over
$800 in year-end charitable contributions toward the $25,000 shortfall
in Ecunet revenue for 2002. While expenses have been cut, thousands
of dollars in member subscriptions remain unpaid and this leaves
Ecunet in a difficult financial situation. If you haven't already,
please consider making a financial contribution to Ecunet.
Contributions can be made online at Network for Good (link below)
or by mailing a check payable to Ecunet, Inc., P.O. Box 308, Cypress,
TX 77410. Ecunet is a 501(c)3 organization and all contributions
are tax deductible.
If you are a "Lite" member please consider upgrading
to a paid subscription. To upgrade to a "Full" membership
(just $28.95/year), log in at http://www.ecunet.org/conference
and click the link in the upper right to "Upgrade your
Lite account."

Make
public meetings more accessible using /topic command
Did you know that meetings in which you are the creator or moderator
can be made more available for people to join via the Web using
the /topic command found in the Ecunet Web interface? When the /topic
option is enabled, your meeting invitation can be found on the Web
by visiting http://www.ecunet.org/topic/your_ meeting_name.
This is a great tool that will allow visitors to read meeting invitations
on the Web! Put links on your church or organization Web site to
Ecunet meetings you want to promote.
To enable /topic for your meeting, first go to the Web interface
and select a meeting you created. Go to "My Meetings,"
highlight the meeting, and select "Modify" from the pull
down menu. Click "Continue." Then select "Allow /topic
access for this meeting." Select the "Yes" radio
button, and click "Continue." The /topic will become immediately
available! This method for promoting Ecunet discussions is not recommended
for private meetings.

Terms
of Service update
Ecunet has updated its Terms of Service (TOS) agreement for Ecunet
members. This is the most comprehensive update Ecunet has done in
years, and addresses a variety of issues, including advertising
to Lite members, customer support, privacy policies, member conduct,
and other general issues. You can read the most recent TOS on the
Web, or by joining the meeting, "Terms of Service."

Ecunet
host system moving to Houston
For many years, Ecunet's host computers have enjoyed a home at
the Presbyterian Center in Louisville, KY. In January 2003, Ecunet
will move its computers to a hosting center in Houston, TX. This
move is the result of changes at the Presbyterian Center, but also
reflects Ecunet's growth. Houston is home to Ecunet's customer support,
programmers, and administrative personnel. You can expect more details
about the move in early January.
