Connecting
People of Faith Campaign
The last issue of EcuNews reported the introduction of
FaithGroups.com, a product development, administration, billing, and
marketing entity created by Ecunet to aid in the promotion of
Ecunet, and to extend its mission to faith groups not currently
represented by Ecunet board members.
This Fall Ecunet will introduce a far reaching marketing campaign
to promote the FaithGroups' communication products. Initially this
campaign will introduce the new congregational egroups product
(highlighted in the last issue of EcuNews). It will also promote
Ecunet's new online collaboration tools currently in public beta
testing. The campaign will include telecommunications products
offered by EcuServe.com, as well as discount domain registration and
related Internet hosting services.
"Ecunet began before the Internet age and connected people
of faith before it was fashionable," says Brian Lang, Ecunet's
business administrator. "The past few years we have listened to
the faith groups served by Ecunet and applied this knowledge to new
communication products and services. This year we will begin to act
on what we have learned with the introduction of new products, and
with continued exploration of innovative ways to 'connect people of
faith.' "

Changes
at PresbyNet
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) recently announced staff and
program changes at 100 Witherspoon, the home of their national
offices. Some of these changes hit close to home for PresbyNet, as
among those affected by the changes includes Elinor Mosser. Elinor,
who joined the staff in 1996 as assistant for computer
communication, had seen her responsibilities shift from a technical,
customer-support role to one which has included marketing PresbyNet
to PC(USA) program areas and entities.
"Historically, our role with PresbyNet has always been to
facilitate online community, and that role remains unchanged. During
the Fall of this year and during 2005, we intend to extend the work
of building online community for Presbyterians by active
participation in the 'Connecting People of Faith' campaign. This
will include marketing new ways to build online community using
current and new technology under development from Ecunet.org and
FaithGroups.com. Most notable among these new initiatives will be
promoting how to bring regional governing bodies and local church
communities online for communication, collaboration, and news
distribution," says Dianna Ott, Coordinator, Internet Services,
PC(USA).

Public
Beta Testing of New Ecunet Interface
The new Ecunet interface is now in public beta, and you are
invited to participate in its testing. The new interface provides
collaboration tools long sought after by the denominational member
networks served by Ecunet, including personal calendaring, hyperlink
libraries and file sharing areas associated with meetings, the
ability to select individual meetings to forward to an e-mail
address or to be only read in the web interface, as well as many new
"ease of use" features.
To participate in testing, please first join the meeting Public
Beta Chat. This group is where testers can talk about the new public
beta web interface, provide feedback, and talk with developers and
other users about your experience with the new interface.

Correct
Billing Address
As of January 1, 2004, FaithGroups.com assumed billing
responsibilities for Ecunet. However, many members continue to send
payment for their Ecunet memberships to the old billing address in
Louisville, KY. Please note that invoices not paid electronically
online should instead be mailed to:
